On the night when the bar fight broke out, on the same day when an older regular customer had gotten popped for a DUI, and when, before that, a co-worker had quite suddenly walked out, leaving me to either face another 7,000 doubles or try yet again to plug the holes in the dam with chewing gum, the offer landed in my lap.
Timing, as they say, is everything. And this could not have timed out at a better time.
In two weeks, I’ll still be in the Keys, but nowhere near where I am now. In three weeks, I’ll start my new big-girl job. It’s a job I’ve done before, but never in such a beautiful, laid-back setting. I am sure I can dig through the back of my closet to resurrect the grown-up clothes.
They say opportunity happens when you are least looking for it. I am two for two in that realm. As much as I have learned and loved in this place, I am very much ready to live what’s next.
And I’m not looking back, except to watch my great guy follow as he drives the U-Haul. More stories soon.

Good luck, RG!
Best of luck! You will be great!
And a new chapter starts in the RG saga. You sure know how to keep things interesting! Can’t wait to read what happens next.
Can’t wait to hear your next adventure. You know we all live vicariously through you, don’t you???
What we know in advance:
– it will not go as you expected it to
– the new apartment will have something that needs fixing
– you’ll never run out of things to blog about.
Wishing you all the best and looking forward to the next chapter 🙂
So, do you have a place to live already?
How exciting! How are you ever going to adapt to big-girl clothes again.
Sounds like some good times ahead, RG. I hope it last as long as you can stand it 😉
Does this mean no flip-flops?
